For accounts with passkey enabled, verification is required by default for actions such as logging in or modifying wallet addresses. If you encounter errors during these processes, please follow the solutions below.
1. Verification timeout or input error
If the verification process times out or an incorrect entry is made, you can try refreshing the login page or restarting the app. After refreshing the page or restarting the app, the verification process will resync, and you can try again.
2. Issues related to device, OS, or account switching
f2pool supports various passkey methods, such as Google account, iCloud Keychain, 1Password, and biometrics. When setting up a passkey, please ensure it is properly synced or that the device accounts you use are consistent. Additionally, please try to avoid cross-platform verification; for instance, verifying between iOS and Android or macOS and Android may result in errors.
If you need to verify across different devices, we recommend adding the corresponding verification method for each device individually. During verification, select the passkey that matches your device type. Alternatively, you can use the same passkey account type, such as using the same Google account, iCloud Keychain, or 1Password account. When logging in across devices, the verification information for the same account will sync automatically to complete the process.
3. Cross-device login failures
If you’ve only set up one passkey method and encounter a verification failure when logging in across devices or systems, we recommend logging into your f2pool account on the device where the passkey was first bound. In the Account Settings — Security — Passkeys section, toggle off the “passkey required for sensitive operations” button (blue indicates it is on, gray indicates it is off. You can also add new verification devices on this settings page).
After disabling the “passkey required for sensitive operations” feature, your new device can log in via 2FA, email verification codes, or other methods. Please note that this new device cannot be used to add or disable passkeys in the settings page; you will still be required to use the original device used to bind the passkey to make these modifications.
4. Lost passkeys
Unlike 2FA verification, passkeys cannot be recovered using a secret key or similar methods. If you lose your passkey, you can refer to this guide to reset it. Please note that once a passkey reset is requested, all passkey verification methods you have set up will be deleted; resetting a specific single passkey is not supported.
