Can I mine Bitcoin or Litecoin with my laptop or GPU miner?

Laptops or GPU miners cannot mine Bitcoin or Litecoin efficiently. 

As more ASIC miners continuously join the Bitcoin and Litecoin networks, the network difficulty significantly increases. Laptops and GPUs can only provide a very low hashrate relative to ASICs. They cannot handle sufficient calculation work that is sent from the pool, so miners may not get any rewards when mining with laptops or GPUs in the Bitcoin or Litecoin network.

However, for certain coins like CFX, DNX, IRON, and RVN, some options allow GPU mining to be desirable. Different coins have their respective requirements regarding mining equipment, memory, motherboard, CPU, and so on. You can view the requirements of each coin on the mining tutorial.
